Scott Showers

Lead Financial Advisor

(904) 242-7900

(248) 809-9634

I am an independent investment advisor representative who specializes in helping people achieve their most important goals that are aligned with their most deeply held values. My motivation comes from the sense of satisfaction of helping people create a plan and then watching that plan unfold successfully because we really took the time to understand who they are and what they hope to achieve.

Growing up in a small rural town, Ithaca, Michigan, I spent much of my time on my grandparents' dairy farm. My grandparents had an advisor who would come to the farm and meet with them at the kitchen table, and I was allowed to sit in on a few of these meetings starting around age 12, which sparked my interest in investing and financial planning. I have always valued the sense of community and safety that small towns provide.

I have a passion for aviation and hold a private pilot license and working towards becoming instrument rated and obtaining my commercial pilot certificate. I also hold an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license. I am an avid outdoor enthusiast, I enjoy mountain biking, running, camping, hiking, motorcycling, and skiing. I love spending time with my family, especially exploring our National Parks. I have been married to my wife, LaDawn for 34 years, and we have two grown adult children who are successful and self-sufficient.

Throughout my life, I have been actively involved in my community, serving on the board of education for Ithaca Public Schools in the capacity of Board President and Secretary, and being a past member of Rotary International. I am also a member of the Financial Services Institute, Airplane Owners and Operators Association (AOPA), North American Trainer Association (NATA), and Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association (COPA).

I am a graduate of Western Michigan Unversity with a BBA with a Major in Industrial Marketing and a Minor in Business Management.

Phillip J McKellop

Following a European upbringing, the son of a US military officer and South Tyrolean mother, at the age of 18, Phillip moved to the United States to pursue what the free enterprise system allowed… pursuit of the “The American Dream”… and many would say he succeeded. With little more than $40 to his name, he began designing a new life for himself.

He began his career in the financial industry over 20 years ago, helping others who were determined to achieve well-being, regardless of the odds. He thinks in truly unconventional ways, with high moral expectations.

Phillip loves mountain biking, boating and free-dive spear fishing. He’s involved with Amazon Xpeditions, Go To Nations’ water well drilling projects and Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. He speaks fluent Italian.

Trisha Bailey, Ph.D.

Following careers with the State Department in Seoul, Korea, and a real estate developer, Trisha discovered the financial services industry. She grew up in Plant City, Florida, and was an honor graduate of the University of Florida with a B.S. in Food and Resource Economics, and a minor in Communications, and a Master of Agribusiness Management. She earned a Ph.D. in International Business from Northcentral University, graduating with high honors.

What Trisha loves most about her work is helping make difficult concepts easy for people. Friends and clients expect her to give the hard truth- whether they like it or not, with a spoonful of sugar, of course. Phillip refers to her as “the ultimate diplomat”. She has a desire to empower and enlighten people. She believes life is challenging enough, without being overwhelmed by one’s financial picture.

Trisha believes, “What sets us apart at Verso Wealth is that we work for our clients – not the firm. Our business is to thoroughly understand our clients, inside and out. Serving the best interests of our clients is my job and my commitment.”

She loves sharing time with her husband, John, and their fur-child, Buddy, their family and close friends. She relaxes with travel magazines, pleasure reading (not academic or business), and any activity on or near the ocean.

She’s involved with several non-profits and social enterprises around the world, is an Ellis Island Medal of Honor Recipient, a member of Delta Mu Delta Honor Society of Business and is a published author in the business-as-mission repository of academic works, as well as other academic journals.

Trisha is an expert in social enterprises, businesses which serve a social mission while striving to be profitable for long-term viability. She is a global advocate and intends to speak before the United Nations regarding the contributions of social enterprises to reaching the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

I have been working for Focus Financial Group full-time since June 2001. I bring my experience and training in media and communications from Specs Howard School of Media Arts (formerly Broadcast Arts) to my role at Focus. I enjoy the movie experience and like to create when I have free time. As a key contact at Focus for a subset of clients, I not only work closely with the advisors but am an advocate for the best possible client experience. I am a non-registered administrative associate of J.W. Cole.

What I enjoy most about my job is helping clients resolve their issues. It gives me a sense of satisfaction when I can do that. I try to be a friend, guide, teacher, and problem-solver when I work with clients. I was born and raised in southeast Michigan and still live fairly local to where I grew up. My husband is Will and he supports me in everything I do. Many of the clients know him well and even ask about him at meetings/phone calls.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, creating videos, writing, watching movies/TV, volunteering with the deaf community, learning new things, gardening, playing pickleball, and traveling. I am trilingual (English, Spanish & American Sign Language) and I am passionate about using my language skills to help and connect with others.

Grayson ( Gus ) Richter

Associate Financial Advisor / Relationship Manager

(248) 809-9634

I am an associate financial advisor with Focus Financial Group and my primary responsibilities include supporting the creation, execution, and monitoring of clients' financial strategy through direct client interaction, paperwork processing, and behind the scenes coordination with other team members to deliver our services. I received a bachelor's degree from Alma College in 2021, I am also a licensed producer of Life Insurance in Michigan and have my Series 65 Licensing.

When working with clients, I love hearing all of the different perspectives people have on similar topics. We take a values-based approach to investing and financial planning, aligning our clients' financial goals with their values and priorities. Solving puzzling financial situations gives me the same kind of satisfaction as putting in that last piece of a jigsaw puzzle.

I am from Durand, Michigan, a small rural town, where I grew up with a positive attitude and a hard work ethic. I learned that approach to life from the people in my community. In my free time, I enjoy wrestling, and I am looking to give back to the sport by coaching at some point in the future.
